About the author

Lynne Faires is a holistic nutrition coach and educator in ecological living.

Originally from Vancouver Island, Canada, she began her career working with clients in nutrition and teaching at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

A turning point came when symptoms of autoimmune disease and chronic fatigue required her to slow down and rethink her relationship with health, nature, and the rhythms of everyday life.

This experience deepened her interest in herbalism, nourishing food, and regenerative approaches to growing and preparing what we eat.

Today, Lynne shares her work through teaching, writing, and cultivating spaces where people can reconnect with the natural world. She holds an Advanced Permaculture Certification and has trained with internationally recognised educators in nutrition, herbalism, and ecological design.

Through this herbarium, she hopes to invite readers to rediscover and reconnect with an older kind of wisdom rooted in observation, nourishment, and care for the living world.

You can follow her work online at Jardin Feuilles de Vie.

frequently asked questions

Is this book safe for complete beginners?

Yes. Plant identification guidance is written with beginners in mind, including clear notes on look-alikes and the reminder that you should always be absolutely certain of any plant before consuming it. The book encourages caution, cross-referencing, and curiosity over speed.

Does it cover plants in my region?

The book focuses on wild edibles and medicinal plants found in our gardens, which are widely found across Western Europe and temperate North America. Many of the plants covered, such as dandelion, nettle, elderflower, and plantain, grow abundantly across both continents.

Is it practical or more of a coffee table book?

Both. It's a premium hardcover designed to look beautiful on a shelf, but it's also made to be taken outside. It has heavy paper with space to write and press plants inside. It's meant to be used!

How long does shipping take?

Within Europe: approximately 3–7 working days via tracked shipping. To North America: approximately 7–14 working days via tracked international post. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

What is the difference between the hardcover book & the digital PDF?

The hardcover book is toile-bound with a sewn binding, a ribbon bookmark, heavy-weight paper, 152 pages, 210×210mm square format. This format is meant to be taken outdoors with you as a guide and reference, as well as used indoors for pressing leaves and flowers, following recipes, and more. The digital copy will provide you with a PDF that will allow you to follow the information inside as well as print it off in a style of your choosing.
